Some of the most powerful moments happen when a child accomplishes something their family once feared might never be possible. The support generated through Tinsel & Tidings helps create those moments every single day.

Drew & Andrea Burczyk

For Drew and Andrea Burczyk, the mission of the B.E. Smith Family Center isn't just important—it's personal.

Before their son Connor was born, the Burczyks learned he would be born with spina bifida. After prenatal surgery in Houston and weeks spent navigating uncertainty far from home, they returned to Kansas City searching for the specialized care and support Connor would need.

They found it at Britain Development.

Connor began therapy at just two months old. Today, he participates in physical therapy, aquatherapy, and toddler group therapy, with even more milestones ahead. After being told he might never walk independently, Connor is now taking steps on his own and walking with the support of braces and a walker.

For the Burczyks, those milestones represent more than progress. They represent possibility.

Now, as chairs of the 2026 Tinsel & Tidings event, Drew and Andrea are helping ensure other families have access to the same expert care, encouragement, and opportunities that have made such a difference in Connor's life.

Together, they're championing a future where every child has the support they need to grow, learn, and reach their fullest potential.
